Rev. David Hughes

Senior Pastor

Rev. David Hughes is in his tenth year of ministry to Christ and The Church. David’s formation is in thanks to many fine schools, employers, churches, and his family. He received a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish at Furman University (2005), a Master of Divinity from Erskine Theological Seminary (2018) and is currently working on his Doctor of Ministry at McAfee School of Theology in Church Leadership and Administration with plans to complete the degree in 2023. Before accepting the call to ministry in 2011, David worked for six years for non-profits in Greenville, South Carolina and Patagonia, Chile. Previously, he served as the minister to students at First Baptist Church of Augusta (2018 – 2021) and Easley First Baptist Church (2011 – 2018). Recently, David accepted the call to be the next senior pastor of First Baptist Church Carrollton of Carrollton, Georgia where he will begin in January 2022. Married to the love of his life in 2006, David’s amazing wife of fifteen years is Rebecca who is a constant source of love, encouragement, and partnership in the ministry. The two of them welcomed their daughter Maggie in 2012 and now watch with amazement as their precious nine-year-old continues to grow and develop. David believes firmly that The Church is a place of invitation for all where lives can be transformed by The Gospel of Jesus Christ. His passion is to create vision and lead God’s people to express the love of Christ in the world.

Rev. Henry D. Tyson

Associate Pastor of Pastoral Care

I grew up on our family farm in the Ithica Community just south of Villa Rica, GA, where I milked two cows twice daily (early morning before school and late afternoon) from age 12 until if finished high school. I attended Villa Rica Public Schools and graduated from Georgia Institute of Technology in 1970 where I received a B.S. in Building Construction. My seminary studies included a Masters in Church Music from Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in 1979. I have served churches in Kentucky, Tennessee, and Georgia, primarily as Minister of Music with added responsibilities in Youth, Senior Adult, and Administration ministries. I retired in 2012 after having served as City Administrator, City of Fitzgerald, GA, for 10 years and as part-time Minister of Music, Fellowship Baptist Church, Fitzgerald, GA, for 20 years. In my spare time, I enjoy my family, involvement with Georgia and National Cooperative Baptist Fellowship, mission projects, gardening, sailing, flying, motorcycling, carpentry, and, of course, church choral music.

Rev. Jennifer Jindrich

Associate Pastor of Children

Hello! I am Jennifer Jindrich, the pastor of children and church administration. Carrollton and First Baptist Church have been home to my family for the past 18 years. I am married to Chuck, who is the band director at Bremen High School. We have two children, Ethan and Jenna. Ethan is 18 and in the United States Army. Jenna is 16 and a junior in high school. Like most people we live a busy life, so spending quality time with my family is one of the things I treasure. I also love long walks with my dog Blue and reading a good book (especially if I’m reading it while sitting on the beach).

Rev. Tyler Ingram

Associate Pastor of Music and Worship

Originally from North Carolina, Rev. Tyler Ingram began his ministry at FBC Carrollton in August of 2022. Tyler received a Bachelor of Music Education from University of North Carolina Greensboro (2016), and a Master of Divinity from Campbell University Divinity School (2020). Prior to arriving in Carrollton, he served as the Assistant Minister of Music at Hayes Barton Baptist Church in Raleigh, NC. Tyler is passionate about creating worshipful experiences that are engaging and impactful, as well as intergenerational music ministry that expands throughout all generations. Tyler married his high school sweetheart Ashley in 2016 who works in the health insurance industry. Their son Brooks was born in 2021 who continues to bring light and joy into their lives. They also have a golden retriever Marshall who is filled with a lot of energy and love. In his free time, Tyler enjoys spending time with his family, attending local sporting events, and playing local disc golf courses.

Rev. Bill Avery

Facilities Maintenance Supervisor

Hello! I serve as the full-time Facilities Maintenance Supervisor at FBC. Although I am a seminary trained ordained minister, God has called me to serve at FBC at this time. I consider my work and service at FBC to be a tangible part of the work of ministry. Utilizing my “jack of all trades” skillset and supervisory skills, I do my best to keep on top of things to keep the church buildings maintained so that everything runs smoothly. I have served in many capacities in several churches over the years. My heart lies in evangelism and I enjoy preaching. I have had several exciting opportunities to preach revivals. I love to spend time in Bible study, sermon preparation, writing poetry, preaching when the Lord brings opportunity, and discussing theology with my wife, Susan, who is a seminary trained Christian writer. I love to travel, especially spending time with Susan as we explore new places. We enjoy spending time at the beach relaxing and fishing. We also devote as much time as possible in activities involving our grandchildren. When I have time, I enjoy playing tennis and golf.
