Join First Baptist Church Carrollton in supporting Open Hands United Christian Ministry through our inaugural Pickleball Tournament November 13th and 14th at the courts at Lakeshore Park.
Open Hands provides food, financial assistance, and other support to our neighbors in need. With countless individual volunteers and over 15 partner churches, Open Hands is a great example of our community coming together to help each other.
To foster that camaraderie that Open Hands embodies, Friday night will be a family event from 6pm–8pm where predetermined community leaders play against each other. Spectators can cheer on their favorite players and help them by purchasing mulligans. Food trucks and face painting will be available to make Friday night fun for the whole family.
Saturday will be a pickleball tournament that is inviting for individuals who are not skilled pickleball players as well as those who are more advanced. The tournament will consist of a men’s doubles bracket and a women’s doubles bracket with beginner, intermediate, and advanced skill levels in each.
The hope of this event is to bring our community together for a fun evening and to raise funds for a fundamental part of Carrollton. This event all started with an idea from a 5 year old, showing that God can use anyone for His purpose as long as we are willing to hear.
The tournament will be held at Carrollton’s premier pickleball facility at Lakeshore Park, located at 116 Lumpkin Dr, Carrollton, GA 30117. This facility has 19 lighted courts, restrooms, and a pavilion.
In the event that the tournament is rained out, it will not be rescheduled. As all proceeds are going to a non-profit in our community, refunds will not be issued. Thank you for your understanding.
Contact information will be collected during registration and used to notify participants of any changes. Check back here for updates.
A complimentary refreshments table will be available for Saturday’s players. Food trucks will also be on site both days to purchase food. A portion of proceeds from the food trucks will benefit Open Hands.

In an attempt to make this event more accessible to the community as a whole, we are using basic skill levels of beginner, intermediate, and advanced as opposed to the formal numerical ratings.
Teams must play at the skill level of the most advanced player.If unsure of your skill rating, please use the chart below to determine skill level based on current DUPR rating and core focus.

One team will consist of two males or two females.
If enough teams sign up, brackets will be broken into two groups with an age split. However, the initial setup does not include age as a component.
The last day to sign up and receive a free t-shirt is Monday, October 26th. Registrations received between October 27th and November 4th will be accepted, but players will not receive a shirt.

The registration fee is $50 per player, totaling $100 per team.
No, this tournament will not be reported to DUPR.
First Baptist Church Carrollton in partnership with Carrollton Parks & Recreation will run the tournament.
No, all matches are self-monitored.
The tournament will start with a round robin format followed by an elimination playoff for the top teams to determine medalists.
Each team is guaranteed a minimum of four games.
If enough teams in each bracket have not signed up, brackets may be combined.

The tournament starts at 8:30 am, but individual playing times will be emailed the week prior.
Pickleballs will be provided, but players need to bring their own paddles.
No, all sign-ups are through the google form and all necessary information will be sent to you.
You will not be able to see real-time updates the day of the tournament, but there will be a screen at the pavilion to view the information there. Also, since scores are updated in the app, you will not be able to input the game results. Another player or the registration desk will input the results for you.
If the email you provide in registration matches with your Pickleheads app, the tournament will be automatically added to your account once all team details have been uploaded when registration is closed.
Yes, there is no time limit to create an account. If you use the same email you provided during registration, your play history will be added to your account even after the tournament.

Turn on push notifications in the Pickleheads App. There will also be a large screen at the pavilion that will rotate through all matchups.
Open Hands started in a closet in First Baptist Church Carrollton. Then in 2011 six churches joined together and began operating in the building at the corner of South White Street and Newnan Street until moving into the current location at 100 Bledsoe St in 2020. In November 2025, the facility converted from a drive-through pantry to a client-choice pantry.
