Dearest Church:

It is with great joy that I want to introduce you to Miss Caroline Self, our candidate for Minister of Students at First Baptist Church.  Caroline comes with the unanimous recommendation from our search committee, our personnel committee, and our deacon body!

Caroline’s Qualifications and Bio:

Caroline’s resume highlights a journey that shows years of preparation for her lifelong dream of being a minister of students.  A native of upstate South Carolina, she is a proud undergraduate of Clemson University where she received a Bachelor of Science in Parks, Recreation, and Tourism Management in 2020.  Soon after, she began her pursuit of Master of Divinity at McAfee School of Theology and will graduate this spring at which time she will also be ordained in her home church in Anderson, South Carolina.  Along the way, she has served in various roles in different youth ministries and presently serves as a Children’s Ministry Intern at Smoke Rise Baptist Church.

Caroline is engaged to Mr. Matthew Moore.  The two of them met as students at Clemson University.  Matthew recently passed the bar and currently works as an attorney in Lafayette, Georgia.  The two of them will be married in June and look forward to making Carrollton their home!

Hear What Others Are Saying About Caroline:

Since the moment I met her, I could feel Caroline’s passion for Jesus, The Church, and of course, all things students.  Each interview with Caroline further outlined how God was specifically calling her to minister to our students here at First Baptist Church Carrollton! Of course, I’m not the only one who has wonderful things to say about Caroline.  Here are what others are saying…

“In serving alongside Caroline over the last nearly 4 years, I have watched her not only love and serve our students, but love and serve their siblings, families, and friends as well. She breathes energy, spontaneity, and overwhelming passion into each event, bible story, and time of fellowship.  It is with great privilege, prayer, and pride that I offer my endorsement of Caroline as your new Youth Minister.”

Former Smoke Rise Children’s Ministry Intern & Current Deacon

“I am 15 years her senior and I want to be like Caroline when I grow up!”

Rev. Elizabeth “Ebby” Arnold
Mentor to Caroline

“Caroline made a robust first impression on the McAfee community, beginning with her first time visiting with us on Scholars Day. She demonstrates the rare ability to balance her life with academic, spiritual, social, and cultural pursuits. She is self-motivated and demonstrates authentic compassion towards all. Caroline is committed to serving others for the sake of a better church and world, and I have no doubt that FBC Carrollton will be enriched with her ministry.”

Dr. Greg DeLoach
Dean of McAfee School of Theology

“Youth ministry is in Caroline’s spiritual DNA.”

Dr. Josh Hunt
Pastor of First Baptist Church Anderson, SC

Caroline’s Transition Plan to Full Time Work:

After she is confirmed by our church, Caroline will begin to be present at select Wednesdays with our youth and weekends with our church body.  This will allow her to begin ministry here with our students and families at our church while also finishing seminary, getting married, and moving to Carrollton.  As you can tell, that is a lot of significant back to back life events, so let’s be praying for she and Matthew!  Caroline will begin full time ministry on July 5th.

Church, I could not be more excited for the amazing person God has blessed us with to lead our students here at First Baptist Church in Caroline Self.  The future is incredibly bright for our church and especially our students and their families!  Join me in saying this wherever you are, “The best is yet to come!”

Sincerely,

Pastor David
