Never try to predict the weather from the pulpit! In a November sermon, Pastor David said it wouldn’t snow this winter, and if it did, he would jump in Lake Carroll. Now that it has snowed, he is going to fulfill his promise but wants to use this event as a way to raise awareness for missions as well as some money for February’s Global Mission Offering which supports CBF missionaries throughout the world. On Friday, February 28th at 4 p.m. at Lakeshore Park at Lake Carroll, he is going to take a Polar Plunge into an ice bath that will be prepared for him! He just doesn’t think Lake Carroll will be a true Polar Plunge at that time of year! You can come and watch in person or watch on a Facebook live video on First Baptist’s Facebook page!
All donations will go to our church’s goal of raising $8,000 for our Global Mission Offering which goes to support missionaries throughout the world. To learn more about the Global Mission Offering click on this link: https://cbf.net/global-missions/offering-for-global-missions/, but be sure to donate through First Baptist Church so we can count it towards our overall goal! You can do so through FBC’s Venmo. Simply put “Polar Plunge” and your pledge category in the memo line!
