The Adventure Begins

Root Kids in a Relationship with God

Sign up your children for the best week of their entire summer! When children step through the doors of FBCC, they will walk into the world of Rainforest Falls, overflowing with waterfalls, towering trees, and colorful creatures, where they will plunge into discovering the nature of God. During VBS, children will explore what it means to be rooted in a relationship with God, their Creator, through worship rally, Bible study, music, imagination station, missions, and games.

Watch our recap video from VBS 2025 to get a glimpse of all the fun our children have at VBS as they learn about God!

Question & Answer

What time and where do I drop off my children in the morning?

Drop off and pick up is at our fellowship hall entrance off South White Street. Because of our limited space, we ask parents to stay in their vehicle. Please do not park and walk up. Drop off begins at 8:45 with VBS starting at 9am. Pick up begins at 12:00pm. We will email a drop off/pick up map the week prior to VBS.

While we would love to accept all of our children, the activities we prepared have been designed with specific-aged kids in mind. We also have limited spots in our preschool area. Children must be at least 3 years old by May 1 AND potty-trained in order to attend. If your child does not meet both of those requirements, we look forward to having them with us in VBS next summer.

Please let us know about your child’s allergy on their registration form. If your child has an allergy, we will contact you through email with our snack menu the week prior to VBS. If you would like to send in an alternate snack, please feel free to do so. We ask that you put the snack in a sealed, disposable container with the child’s first and last name. Please do not send snacks that require refrigeration.

It takes over 50 volunteers to safely provide the VBS experience at FBCC. All our volunteers pass a background check and are trained on FBCC’s safety policies and procedures

Yes! You are welcome to come to VBS even if you can’t participate all five days or will be late. We do have limited spots though, so if you register and then realize you can’t attend at all, we ask that you let us know so we can open your spot up to someone else who can attend.

Nothing! We will provide all materials and snacks that your child will need for VBS. Please avoid sending water bottles as our kids rotate to different classrooms throughout VBS, and there isn’t a great way for us to store them or keep up with them throughout the morning.

No. Thanks to the generous giving of our church members, VBS is free to all attending.

Dr. David Hughes

Senior Pastor

Dr. David Hughes accepted the call to the senior pastor of First Baptist Church Carrollton in January 2022. David’s formation is in thanks to many fine schools, employers, churches, and his family. He received a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish at Furman University (2005), a Master of Divinity from Erskine Theological Seminary (2018) and a Doctor of Ministry at McAfee School of Theology in Church Leadership and Administration (2023). Before accepting the call to ministry in 2011, David worked for six years for non-profits in Greenville, South Carolina and Patagonia, Chile. Previously, he served as the minister to students at First Baptist Church of Augusta (2018 – 2021) and Easley First Baptist Church (2011 – 2018). Married to Rebecca in 2006, David’s amazing wife is a constant source of love, encouragement, and partnership in the ministry. The two of them welcomed their daughter Maggie in 2012 and now watch with amazement as their precious daughter continues to grow and develop. David believes firmly that The Church is a place of invitation for all where lives can be transformed by The Gospel of Jesus Christ. His passion is to create vision and lead God’s people to express the love of Christ in the world.
